Dates: 7-8 April 2025
Day 1
9:30-10:00 - Coffee and light breakfast
10:00-12:00 – Workshop: Funding Landscape in Denmark.
Theme:
Currently we are experiencing large changes in biological systems due to anthropogenic activities, however, there is also a realization that management can mitigate some of these degradations. For this reason, there is an increased focus on basic and applied research on management and changes in ecosystems.
The big question is how do we secure that current as well as the next generation of researchers successfully can secure funding for tackling these challenges?
Presentations:
- Researcher: Professor Mads Albertsen, Aalborg University.
- Private foundation: Novo Nordic Foundation.
- National Research Council: former member of the National Research Council, Professor Michael Møller Hansen, Aarhus University.
The workshop:
During the workshop we will hear from a research development manager, a researcher, a member from a private foundation, and a former panel member from a public research foundation. We will get their perspective on how to secure that current as well as the next generation of researchers successfully can secure funding for tackling challenges within ecological end evolutionary research. Secondly, we will have a discussion together with the panel on challenges and opportunities for addressing and mitigating the effect of anthropogenic activities on biological systems.
Oikos-DK will prepare questions and moderate the discussion. We encourage participants to prepare questions ahead of the session and there will also be time for participants to discuss and prepare questions for the discussion.
