A new report from Clarivate Analytics places five researchers from or affiliated with Department of Chemistry & Bioscience, AAU, on the list of the most cited researchers in the world. That's more than ever before.
In the analysis "Highly Cited Researchers 2022" Clarivate trawls the Web of Science™ for highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for a field or fields and publication year.
The following researchers affiliated with Department of Chemistry & Bioscience are on the 2022-list:
- Professor Mads Albertsen
- Professor Per Halkjær Nielsen
- Distinguished Professor Ary A. Hoffmann, primary affiliation University of Melbourne
- Distinguished Professor Mark van Loosdrecht, primary affiliation Delft University of Technology
- Distinguished Professor Michael Wagner, primary affiliation University of Vienna

What are "Highly Cited Researchers"?
Every year, Clarivate Analytics publishes a list of the world's most influential researchers defined as the one percent of researchers most frequently cited in scientific publications worldwide.
In recent years, the number of AAU researchers in the world's top 1% has steadily increased.
The five researchers can count themselves on the list of the absolute elite of the world's researchers, when it comes to academic citations.
