Chemical Engineering

Active Materials

Self-cleaning membrane, photocatalysis, nanoparticles, recycling of polymeric and composite materials, inorganic polymers.

Research actions are focused on development, characterization and testing of new materials including polymers, composites, metals and ceramics. This involves development and synthesis of semiconductor nanoparticles for self-cleaning surfaces based on photocatalysis and dye-sensitized solar cells.

Development of self-cleaning anti-fouling membranes for water treatment. Chemical recycling of waste polymeric and composite materials for recovery of the chemical constituents and fibrous materials. Electrochemical production of inorganic composites for protection and strengthen of offshore installation. Development of novel building materials from inorganic polymers.
