We welcome all students and staff to learn about Craig Spencer’s interesting work with conservation, research, and anti-poaching unit in Balule Nature Reserve - 52.000 hectare in Greater Krüger National Park, South Africa.

Department of Chemistry and Bioscience aim to do collaborative research and master student exchange in the area.

Transfrontier Africa is conservation management projects run by a small but dedicated team of researchers who protects the natural heritage. 

Research topics of Transfrontier Africa (examples)

  • Monitoring of top predator diets
  • Pangoglin habitat
  • Invasive plants
  • Vegetation studies
  • Development of apps to handle data
  • Marula seeding
  • Use of bee pheromones to decrease elephant-human conflicts
  • The impact of a railway on distribution of animals > 5 kg, including camera traps.

Craig Spencer's aim is to take the lead in conservation projects throughout Private Nature Reserves that form part of the Greater Kruger National Park

Craig Spencer's work is fascinating and has been widely recognized. During the lecture, he will share insights into his work and provide a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities of wildlife conservation.
